Energy Performance Certification

Regenda Homes is an award-winning Registered Social Housing provider based in Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire who own and manage circa 12,000 properties. We were appointed to carry out Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) following significant improvement works to properties across 2 schemes in Fleetwood and the Wirral.

Process

We requested information from the Client on the improvement works carried out to each property, so we could provide key data such as U values to our assessors for inclusion as part of the EPC lodgement. Our dedicated Customer Liaison Officer (CLO) contacted residents to provide details of the assessments and answer any questions or concerns they might have, as well as arranging an appointment at a convenient date and time. The EPCs were completed by qualified Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs), accredited by Elmhurst Energy, and lodged on our corporate account before issuing the certificates and XML files to the Client.

Result

The use of U values ensured Energy Performance Certificates were as accurate as possible and reflected the improvement works completed by the Client, rather than relying on RdSAP assumptions which could have led to lower results. Access rates were maximised, and complaints were minimised by developing a clear resident communication plan as part of the project mobilisation. We were able to manage the data QA and transfer process through our Elmhurst Energy corporate account. The certificates were submitted to the Client along with XML files, which enabled them to upload the EPC energy data to their asset management software.
