Retrofit Assessment & Coordination
The housing association First Choice Homes offers housing in the heartland of Oldham and beyond, providing around 11,500 homes. We were commissioned by First Choice Homes Oldham to provide Retrofit Assessment and Coordination services on their Wave 1 SHDF retrofit project. The project included retrofitting 213 properties with the intended outcome of improving their energy performance to SAP band ‘C’ or above.

Process
We completed a comprehensive desktop study of the Client’s property data at the outset, using our asset management experience and knowledge to highlight any potential data issues early. For example, we identified circa 85 timber frame properties which incorrectly had cavity wall insulation as a recommended measure, as well as circa 50 properties that were already SAP band ‘C’. We additionally supported with activities such as Airtightness Testing and Damp/Structural Surveys, to ensure we did not fall behind the agreed programme.
Result
We delivered the retrofit assessments within the agreed timescale and worked with the retrofit installer to ensure that all stages of the PAS2035 process were completed throughout the project. This reduced the risk of issues occurring when lodging evidence on TrustMark at the end of the project, which is required to claim funding through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).
